Volunteerism
Dr. Cobb believes it is important to give back to the community both locally and abroad. He dedicates his time and professional talent to many organizations.
Professional Community Service
Somos Amigos Medical Missions
Dr. Cobb travels to a small mountainous village in the Dominican Republic three times annually and spends one week providing pro bono dental services. He has volunteered on fifteen trips to date. He serves as a Somos Amigos board member.
Spanish Catholic Center
Dr. Cobb treats patients monthly as a volunteer dentist for a Hispanic community dental clinic in Washington, DC.
Archdiocesan Health Care Network
Dr. Cobb provides free dental care to uninsured, low income patients in Washington, DC.
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry - "Give Back a Smile"
Dr. Cobb provides pro bono prosthetic and cosmetic dental care to women who have been victims of domestic violence.
"Give Kids a Smile Day"
From 2002 through 2006, Dr. Cobb performed pro bono dental services for children at Howard University School of Dentistry during Children's National Health Month.
Operation Smile - Dental Mission Vietnam
In June of 2000, Dr. Cobb volunteered as a clinical instructor and clinical presenter during an all day dental symposium. In addition, he provided dental services as part of a two-week mission at University of Hanoi in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Non-Professional Community Service
Dr. Cobb also devotes his personal time to community service, he serves as the treasurer for the Tenleytown College Scholarship Fund which awards partial college tuition for DC area high school seniors based on community service. He has also coached youth basketball and youth baseball. Dr. Cobb has volunteered with Christmas in April and served as house captain providing no cost house repairs and renovations for under-privileged families.
